![]() Summary The user often experiences a problem, while handling some of the Macs, when they are not allowed to repair permissions or directory in Disk Utility. They are unable to erase or partition the drive. I cannot partition a new external hard drive, which has just been formatted to Mac Os Extended (Journaled) by myself. The reason is 'Disk with Master Boot Record partition maps cannot be partitioned'. As with the external hard drive, once the partition has been created, click on Untitled, but this time under the Internal heading and click on Partition. That’s basically all there is to partitioning drives in OS X. Hopefully, it worked for you. Even the Network deployment tools like Apple’s Netinstall service or the DeployStudio fails, on account of this error. The error, which is thrown, is the: ‘Disc erase failed couldn’t unmount disc.’ or ‘ Disk Erase failed with the error: Couldn’t unmount disk.’ The error occurs in such situations like formatting Mac as well as partitioning and verification and repairing of Mac disk. Causes The reason for this error is the modification of the boot drive, or it is being used by some other process or application. If the internal drive is causing the issue because the OS X Recovery exists as a partition on the physical disk, unable to modify or unmount the internal drive, then the preference must be given to a network drive or an external drive. Solution There are many solutions when the user faces these problems. Using an external drive or OS X Recovery for the starting up of the Mac from another bootable drive. Disk Utility can be run from the external drive. The version of the OS X does not matter, by at least must be 10.7, 10.8 and 10.9. The one and only requirement are that Disk Utility must reside on the drive. There are three means of resolution of the problem. These are: (1) Fixing with Partition Manager If the OS X is denying you to format, erase and repair the Mac hard drive or a volume due to the Couldn’t Unmount Disk’ Error then use to format the hard drive with Mac OS X Extended Journaled file system. Formatting the hard drive or partition scheme will recreate new HFS file structure on the hard drive, which will be free from cryptic errors. Further, the disk manager utility will allow the user to create, resize, add partitions on the hard drive with HFS, FAT or NTFS file systems. (2) Fixing with USB Boot Drive This is the most recommended method to repair the error. Any OS X boot drive is needed to complete the task. But, the important point to remember is that the installer or the recovery drive must reside in the drive, separate from the primary boot disk with the installed OS on it. The following steps can do the fixing: • • The USB boot drive is attached to the Mac, and the system is rebooted • The OPTION key is held during the booting and then the attached boot drive is selected • Disk Utility is accessed through the Boot menu. It is the Utilities Menu for the Installer Disk • Verification of the Disk is done with the “First Aid.” • The repair is done • The original task which was halted due to the above error was performed again The above steps offer a resolution of the problem. The errors could have been unresolvable without a boot drive. Therefore, a bootable thumb drive was a good option. For the older Mac OS X like 10.6 or earlier, the opportunity lies in a SuperDrive and a bootable DVD, and this can also offer the same resolution. (3) Fixing With the Recovery Partition The above error may also be triggered due to first Aid or while formatting a non-boot partition. In this case, a resolution of the problem occurs with the Recovery Partition, which comes with all the newer versions of the Mac OS X. However, this is not applicable for the modification of the boot disk with the help of partitions or formatting. Then the resolution lies in the previous method. Otherwise, we follow the steps: • The Mac is rebooted, with the OPTION key being held down and the Recovery Partition is chosen • The Disk Utility is chosen from the Boot Menu • Verification and repairing the disk is done with the “First Aid.” or • “ Erase” is used for the disk formatting This will not work with the disk that is throwing the error is the same as the primary boot partition. The solution lies only in using a separate USB drive for fixing the error. Resolving Unmounting External USB Drive on Mac. I use MacBook Pro Mid 2012, 750GB HDD. Recently i bought it from my friend.

2/26/2019 0 Comments Download Cracked App Store For MacPerhaps the number one question a lot of people are wondering after the release of the is how do you install cracked applications on the iOS 6.0, iOS 6.0.1, iOS 6.0.2 or iOS 6.1 firmware. Well, the answer to this question is the same as it has always been, you will first need to install. Essentially, what AppSync allows you to do is run cracked App Store applications on your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. Without AppSync cracked applications will not run. You used to be able to download and install AppSync from one repo and then just install Installous and be on your way to enjoying cracked applications on your device. The problem is however, and AppSync for iOS 6 is a little bit harder to find. No to worry however, you can still get cracked apps on iOS 6.x and in this tutorial we will show you how to do just this. How To Install AppSync On iOS 6.x Perquisite: Your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad must be Jailbroken on iOS 6.0, iOS 6.0.1, iOS 6.0.2 or iOS 6.1 before proceeding with this tutorial. Open the App Store app from the Dock, Launch Pad, or using Spotlight Search. Find an app you want to download. You can look at featured apps and different app categories by clicking one of the tabs at the left of the Mac App Store window. Tap the Add button now and type in the following source: Note: A lot of are currently under a lot of strain, so if you are having troubles adding the repository above you can try one of these alternatives. Step 2) – Once you have added one of the repos listed above you will need to search for AppSync. Depending on the repo you added AppSync will be called something slightly different, but look for something along the lines of “ AppSync for iOS 6.x“. As long as you see somewhere either in the title mentioning iOS 6 or in the description you can go ahead and install it. Step 3) – Once AppSync has installed reboot your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad by holding down the power button until you see “slide to power off”. After rebooting, download a free application from the App Store and ensure the app launches without any issues. If it doesn’t launch then this is likely not a working version of AppSync and it will need to be uninstalled by launching Cydia, going into the Manage tab, followed by Packages, finding AppSync and uninstalling it. Step 4) – As long as the free application you downloaded did launch, you are good to go. With AppSync installed it means cracked applications can now run on your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. So in this post, I will show you how to create VR Video player Android app with Google Cardboard SDK for Unity! Create VR Video player Android app with Google Cardboard SDK for Unity There are 3 steps for you to create VR video player android app with Google Cardboard SDK for Unity • Add a sphere with an equirectangular UV mapping and inward facing normals around the camera. • Purchase a plugin to play a movie on that sphere’s texture. I recommend Easy Movie Texture. • Use mp4s or ogg vorbis files that are compatible with the platform. This is phone and OS dependent. At first, Easy Movie Texture take me a lot of time before I can apply it, however, finally I get familiar with it and use it well. Hehe, and now do you know that now my app run very well on my Iphone? This is the result that I haven’r respect before! Easy Movie Texture Tutorial I don’t know if you work on Windows environment, but on Mac you can follow this short tutorial of how to use Easy Movie Texture Download the Easy Movie Texture plug-in from the Unity Asset Store • Open the Demo Sphere demo scene from Assets/EasyMovieTexture/Scene • Create a new (empty) Prefab to your project, and drag the Sphere GameObject from the Demo Sphere scene onto the Prefab. • Reopen your Cardboard scene and drag the new videosphere prefab into your hierarchy. • Open your source 360-video in Quicktime • File -> Export -> 720p • Change file extension from ‘.mov’ to ‘.mp4’ • Drag your new mp4 file into your projects Assets/Streaming Assets directory. Note: don’t import through the menu system, as this will force Unity to convert to OGG. • On the “Media Player Ctrl” script component of your videosphere GameObject, locate the “Str_File_Name” field and provide the FULL filename. Make sure to include the extension as part of the string, “mymovie.mp4”. One last note, you can only view the video on the phone, not in preview in the editor. It would be better if it didn’t work this way, but really once the initial issues of resolution and placement are resolved, I don’t really need to see the video every time I run the scene in the editor. Do you want to find out what are the and? Some tips for those building for Gear VR in Unity What should my “Build Settings” and “Player Settings” be? The first step in getting an app running properly on Gear VR is having the correct “Build Settings” and “Player Settings” for your Unity project. This bit isn’t too complicated, but when things stop working right, it really makes you question yourself and whether you’ve got them set up right! Here are how I’ve set up my own project for Gear VR: • Go to File > Build Settings • Choose “Android” for your platform (select it and then click “Switch Platform”) • Choose “ASTC” for “Texture Compression” (I’m not actually sure if this makes too much difference sometimes, but ) • Then click “Player Settings” to bring up those settings on the right. • In those settings, click the Android tab (it should already be selected if you’ve chosen “Android” as your build platform but good to check if you’re totally new at this) • The most important step is right here — Tick “Virtual Reality Supported”. This is especially important if you’ve been building for other platforms as it’s incredibly easy to miss. I’ve missed this checkbox a bunch of times when switching between Google Cardboard’s old SDK and Gear VR development. Once you fire it up, a series of straightforward voice prompts and instructions will guide you through the process, but they’re almost unnecessary. To use the app, walk around the room and hold your iDevice on the wall for a few seconds until you hear a beep, and then continue onto the next wall. You’ll need to take care that you include every wall and door, but once you’ve completed the circle, RoomScan will compile a surprisingly accurate map of the area. Using on your phone’s built-in GPS, Wi-Fi, and gyroscope to determine distances and the orientation of walls, RoomScan can reliably estimate measurements to within about half a foot, which should be adequate if all you need is a rough floor plan. If, you need more precise measurements, you can opt for the, which allows you to specify exact distances, and will automatically correct the entire room if you adjust a couple dimensions. The Pro version also allows you to scan multiple rooms and have RoomScan stitch them together to create one large, unified map of your entire space. It even lets you add doors as you go instead of dragging and dropping them to the finished floor plan like in the standard version. However, there are sophisticated scams that trick the unaware into installing viruses of their own volition, thinking it's a tool to clean their Mac or a newer version of Flash. I tend to trust Malwarebytes; their antimalware tends to be pretty thorough, is good for spot checks, and is even used by Microsoft technicians as a supplemental to Defender when providing remote assistance. Their Mac version is fairly streamlined too, since Mac's don't need all the extras Windows do, naturally. Although you need to reboot to switch OS's I find that one advantage is it runs faster since it isn't being run as a program inside the Mac OS. You can also use those same partitions when using Paralles which is a good vm software, however it isn't free. I'm running Windows in a virtual machine on my mac (via Parallels). Should I bother installing antivirus, firewall and using other conventional wisdom practices (like don't open unknown.exe etc)? I don't care about data in the virtual machine since I'm using Windows just to run some software which I can't in OSX. So if something goes wrong I can just re-install windows from scratch. Conversely I care about the data I have on my mac and even though I do regular backups it will be really bad if I happen to lose them. You don't want a VM. You want something like docker on steroids. You want completely unprivileged hosting of processes to do things that you know already are going to be a problem for you. That is a clear sign that whatever you are doing is about to be accompanied by the software development equivalent of 'here, hold my beer'. Just remember, a virtual machine is still of class machine, so this is a computer, just not on the bare metal. What I use VMs for day-to-day are development, and I run AV and all the rest all time. Yes, it's an impediment. But I still do it. – Feb 21 '16 at 20:55. Your virtual Windows is on the same network with your OSX, so the same threats of having an infected device on a network applies to this VM. ![]() Your VM is equivalent to a PC in your network its not much different. The same security practices that apply to your PC also applies to your VMs. • Although OSX does not run the same malicious apps that run on windows machines, that VM can still be a threat to rest of the devices on the network. • It can also consume your machine's resources in case it becomes infected and make your host machine slow too. • At times you may login to your email/cloud account on the VM to download something and in case the VM is infected with a keylogger, your data can be stolen. • You may connect a USB Flash drive to the VM to transfer files elsewhere and infection can spread this way. Try to keep the guest operating system along with softwares used in it updated at minimum. If you use it moderately get a free antivirus like microsoft's Windows Defender. One other threat is Ransomwares, Parallels Desktop has a feature that shares some of your OSX folders with windows. If your windows VM gets infected with a ransomware, it can possibly encrypt your shared files causing damage to your important data. Other than the points mentioned above plus the clipboard which SilverlightFox mentioned, it says: 13.3.4. Potentially insecure operations Enabling 3D graphics via the Guest Additions exposes the host to additional security risks; see Section 4.5.1, “Hardware 3D acceleration (OpenGL and Direct3D 8/9)”. When Page Fusion (see Section 4.9.2, “Page Fusion”) is enabled, it is possible that a side-channel opens up that allows a malicious guest to determine the address space layout (i.e. Where DLLs are typically loaded) of one other VM running on the same host. This information leak in it self is harmless, however the malicious guest may use it to optimize attack against that VM via unrelated attack vectors. It is recommended to only enable Page Fusion if you do not think this is a concern in your setup. While you're using a different hypervisor, it is imaginable that same type of risks also apply to that. In addition to, if you're sharing the clipboard with your Mac, then any malware that logs clipboard contents could steal something sensitive copied to the clipboard from your Mac. There is also the possibility that malware could traverse from the VM and execute on your Mac. This is very unlikely to happen, although it is theoretically possible should any such vulnerabilities exist in Parallels. There could also be malware that would make your VM part of a botnet without you necessarily realising. 2/26/2019 0 Comments Echo App For MacAll the devices which are operated by Alexa virtual assistant can be Setup by an Alexa app which can get below. The Mac from which I access the MacMini has a screen resolution 1680 X 1050. I would like to have the MacMini Screen resolution also at this rate to work more comfortable, but could not find s solution for ARD so far. I have a Mac Mini server running Mavericks. It has no monitor connected. I use Remote Desktop on my laptop (also running Mavericks) for I/O to my server. When I use Remote Desktop and go Full Screen I get a 1280x1024 screen sitting in my 1680x1050 screen. Is there any way to force the client (Mac Mini) to use a setting of 1680x1050 so I get a real full screen? I tried holding down the option key while clicking on Scaled in Display -> System preferences. All I see is a new button in the bottom right that says detect displays. Clicking on it does nothing. The only resolution shown is 1280x1024. My Mac Mini Server is a late 2009 with an Nvidia GeForce 9400 graphics card. Here's an alternative, based on CDD's answer that will work for Lion. The Display Menu application doesn't work on Lion. • Go to System Preferences, Displays, and choose the resolution you want. Switch to this resolution. The VNC display will freeze. Press Return a couple of times to accept the resolution anyway. You'll see the menu bar getting wider for a moment, but not the VNC windows. Then it'll auto-revert to how it was. This step is necessary to allow this resolution to show up in the menu chooser in later steps. • Enable 'Show displays in menu bar'. • The display chooser may still not show up in the menu bar for lack of space. To make space, go to Preferences, Users & Groups, Login Options and disable 'Show fast user switching menu'. Disable anything you don't need in the menu bar until there's enough space for the display chooser to show up. • Close Preferences. Log in to the same computer using ssh separately. Choose the desired resolution from the menu bar display chooser, press return a couple of times, and now you can run killall ScreensharingAgent from the ssh session. The VNC window will now resize to the correct resolution. This convoluted method has worked for me. This Finally solved a similar annoying work-related monitor problem of mine. Might help you too. My development-work computer is an iMac sitting on my Baby Grand Piano. But for ergonomic reasons I prefer to work remotely from my old MacBook Pro 17” over home wifi to the iMac using Apple’s screen sharing app. Works fine but theres a niggle. My MacBook screen res. Is 1920 x 1200 but the iMac is 1920 x 1080 maximum native. So for remote work my screen real estate is squashed. I get to use only 1080 lines out of the 1200 available on my MacBook Pro, with black letter boxing above and below the video. To my rescue comes a tiny product: fit-Headless by CompuLab for £21 - sold on Amazon. You plug it into the second monitor video port where it acts as a dummy second display with variable screen resolution options up to 4K. However on receiving it - I plugged it into my VDI port. It appeared in preferences as a second screen. With all the options of screen res - going all the way up to 4K. NO BLOODY 1920 x 1200!!!! Googled around. And came across and downloaded demo of an app called SwitchResX which does all manner of things to do with monitors. It too had tons of resolution options BUT STILL NO 1920 x 1200!! Hidden away was a tab where you can set up your own custom screen res. So added one for 1920x1200. And HEY PRESTO! For an extra £18 for SwitchResX I can now work remotely on my iMac from my Macbook at the same high resolution as my macbook. No letterboxing. More pixels to poke, drag and mouse around with. [ PS: these fit-Headless adapters are actually intended for people using Mac Mini’s as “headless” servers etc where they administer them remotely and don’t want to have an actual monitor attached. For example because it sits in a rack or on a shelf. 2/26/2019 0 Comments Mac App For Akaso V50NEW LAUNCH PREMIUM SERIES OF AKASO EK7000: Featuring native 4K 30fps & 2.7K 30fps video recording and 20MP photos, AKASO V50 action camera lets you record ultra HD video and take stunning photos. One of the many! But a one that certainly stands out! For those of you that are well familiar with the latest action camera models, it is unevitable to not notice the similarities with. In fact almost everything about it is the same, at least in terms of hardware. Unboxing and accessories The v50 pro is way beyond what you’d expect for a 120USD actioncam. Look at the package first – feels like you’ve just spent a few times more for a Gopro Hero like product. And unlike Gopro Hero series, there are bunch of accessories that will come handy. I’d classify the unboxing experience as top notch, and only (some) Thieye's and Eken’s cameras were offering such a stylish package with that many accessories. Besides the waterproof case, there also are tons of mounts, frame, a second battery and even a remote to be used as a wristwatch. With all that you can position the camera in all kind of crazy angles and mount it to countless objects. At the end – this is what action cameras are about! Hardware, build quality and specs Before jumping to more samples – the hardware. 14MP Panasonic image sensor, equipped with Sunplus iCatch v50 chipset means that you will enjoy a good looking footage and the 4K resolution is real. This is a true 4k camera! Two buttons on the top – and they can be used for navigation, alongside with the touch screen. The touch functionality is good, but I do love the fact there is a way to navigate the menus via buttons – this can be precious if you are filming underwater. The battery's capacity is 1100 mah, enough for around an hour of recordings. Performance To summarize my experience – I’ve had some issues with MGcool's Explorer 3, and was expecting it would be similar with the v50 Pro. Quite the opposite – it all worked flawlessly and if I wanted to enable or adjust something, I was able to do it in a few seconds. The menu is grouped in a few sections. The video settings are letting you to switch between resolutions, shooting modes and codes. And yes – h265/HEVC is supported and you may use it to keep the high quality but use smaller amount of space. H264 is also there and I used that one most of the time. Image stabilization works at all the resolutions. The highest fps you will get on 720p – going up to 120 frames per second, but if your goal is to get crisp footage with high level of detail – this would be mostly useless. Next option is FullHD at 60fps which is fine. I liked the way 2K and 4K look too. Both are recorded at 30 fps. The biggest advantage of the higher resolutions is the possibility to have image stabilization. It is nothing like Gopro Hero 6 or Sjcam SJ8 pro stabilization, but for light shakes does a fairly good job and is significantly better compared to footage taken without it. There are a few time lapse options and a way to film fast video. The photo section is very functional too – options to switch resolutions and adjust white balance and explosure. ![]() The smartphone app is quite poor – it does seem to have the needed functions, but is often unstable, and usually crashes at the end of each recording. Therefore the rating of 1.9 in Google Play store at the time of filming this review sounds sort of fair. The MGcool explorer 3 app is essentially the same, however it has the same crashing sympthoms. Luckily this is not a dealbreaker, nor a too important performance pillar. In the settings menu there is control of the angle. |
